Abstract Objective: To evaluate serum IL-6, IL-10, IL-18, IFN-γ for the value of early diagnosis and prognosis of children with hemophagocytic syndrome. Methods: By using the method of prospective study of 20 children with a diagnosis of HPS into diagnosis before treatment and after treatment, while at the same time, with 20 cases normal physical examination children as normal control group, then choose the remission of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), 18 cases and sepsis were 22 cases of serum were chosen as positive control group. IL-6, IL-10, IL-18, IFN-γ levels were determined with flow cytometry instrument flow ball technique. Four kinds of cytokines serum levels before and after treatment between different groups were compared. Results: Four kinds of cytokines levels obriously varied with HPS before and after treatment in children, 4 kinds of cytokines during the diagnosis level was significantly higher than that of the normal control group after treatment (P<0.05), children with HPS of IL-10 and level of IFN-γ obviously elevated compared with normal controls, children with acute leukemia and the cases of sepsis was significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion: Cytokines IL-10 and IFN-γ levels in children with HPS before treatment is significantly elevated compared with the control group, then markedly reduced for treatment, so it can be used as a children’s early diagnosis and prognosis prediction of HPS clinical indicator.
