Abstract Objective: To explore the clinical application effect of self management schemes based on empowerment theory in targeted combined immunotherapy for liver cancer patients. Methods: From April to July 2022, 60 patients with liver cancer who received targeted therapy combined with immunotherapy in the
First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University were prospectively selected as the research subjects.According to the envelope method, they were divided as the control group and the observation group, with 30 cases in each. The control group received routine nursing care, while the observation group was supplemented by the self-management scheme based on the empowerment theory. The self-management efficacy and quality of life scores of the two groups were compared one month after discharge. Results: After intervention, the selfefficacy and scores of all dimensions in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The overall life quality, physical function, role function, cognitive function, emotional function,social function and symptoms like fatigue, nausea and vomiting, dyspnea, insomnia, diarrhea and loss of appetite were significantly improved in the observation group, compared with the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:The self-management intervention scheme using the empowerment theory can effectively enhance the selfmanagement efficacy of targeted combination immunotherapy patients with liver cancer, improve their selfconfidence and self-management ability to overcome the disease, and improve their quality of life.
