Abstract Objective: To explore the effect of PDCA management on reducing the incidence of PET/CT imaging agent extravasation. Methods: A total of 939 patients who underwent PET/CT examination in the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University from March 1, 2022 to March 31, 2022 were selected as the control group, and a total of 1905 patients who underwent PET/CT examination from October 1, 2022 to November 30, 2022 were selected as the experimental group. The traditional nursing process was carried out in the control group while the traditional nursing process plus PDCA management process transformation was performed in the experimental group. The incidence and severity of extravasation of imaging agents were compared between the two groups. Results: There were 13 cases of imaging agent extravasation in the control group (1.38%), and 11 cases in the experimental group (0.58%), with the incidence rate of imaging agent extravasation significantly lower in the experimental group than that in control group (P<0.05). The severity of imaging agent extravasation in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: PDCA management can effectively reduce the incidence of PET/CT imaging agent extravasation and improve the compliance and nursing satisfaction of patients.
