Abstract Teachers’ professional ethics are the first and foremost criteria in evaluating teachers. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has given a series of important instructions, as well as personally deployed the cultivation of teachers’ professional ethics in colleges and universities. However, while the overall situation of teachers’ moral cultivation currently shows a positive tendency, there still exist some problems to be addressed with regard to the synergy management mechanism,teachers’ educational consciousness, its effectiveness, and the evaluation or assessment system concerned. Standing at the new historical juncture, colleges and universities are supposed to focus on the new situation and further strengthen the cultivation of teachers’ ethics in the new era, thus comprehensively enhancing the teachers’ ethics in colleges and universities through building an operating system, a leading system, an assessment system, and a caring system.
