Abstract Objective: To make a scientometrics analysis on SCI articles of Wenzhou Medical University published in recent ten years in order to give suggestions for its discipline construction. Methods: Papers of Wenzhou Medical University collected by Web of Science database from 2011 to 2020 were selected. Visual analysis tools such as Bibexcel, Pajek and bibliometric statistical methods were used to analyze the citations from the aspect of quantity, citation frequency, subject, journal of publication, author cooccurrence and research hot fields. Results: From 2011 to 2020, the number of SCI articles published by Wenzhou Medical University increased year by year and the citation frequency also showed an upward trend. Publications mainly concentrated on clinical medicine and pharmacy. Among the top 20 journals, the proportion of Q1 and Q2 journals of Chinese Academy of Sciences Division accounted for only about 15%. The most prominent cooperative teams were the ones respectively led by Li Xiaokun from School of Pharmacetuical Sciences and Qu Jia from School of Ophthalmology & Optometry. The most prominent cooperative institutions were Zhejiang University and University of Louisville. The literatures published by Livak KJ were the core of co-citation network. The institutional research hotspots were cancer treatment, disease diagnosis and drug research. Conclusion: Under the background of Double First-class Initiative, Wenzhou Medical University should attract more high-level talents and teams to promote the high quality publications by constantly strengthening the competitive disciplines and specialties and optimizing their layout, deepening the cooperation with top scientific research teams worldwide,modifying evaluation system and other measures.
