Abstract Objective:To investigate the association of CDKALI rs7756992 with type 2 diabetes mellitus rT2DM)in Chinese Han population and investigate correlation of the clinical traits related with one certain genotype for further screening and clinic genotyping.Methods:534 T2DM patients and 453 healthy controls from Wenzhou,Zhejiang province were involved in this study.High—resolution dissolving the curve(HRM)and DNA sequencing were used to identify the alleles and genotypes of CDKALI rs7756992,The frequencies of allele and genotype distribution in both groups were analyzed with unconditional logistic regression method.Plus, the clinical traits and complication in different genotypes were described and compared. Results:There was a significant difference in GG/AA gene model(P=0.048)and the frequency of rs7756992(G)(P=0.045)between T2DM and controls. It showed that G was the risk allele for T2DM.It was found that the GG genotype showed lower fasting glucose concentration compared to either AA or AG genotype, even with sex and age adjusted(P<0.01).No significant difference found in HbAlc value. In addition, there was no significant difference statistically between allele and genotype frequencies and the chronic complications of diabetes(P>0.05).Conclusion:The present study reveals that CDKALl rs7756992 is associated with T2DM in Chinese Han population. In addition,it still should be noted that the role of this gene may regulate the blood glucose.
