Abstract Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of drug therapy for portal vein thrombosis. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 19 patients with portal vein thrombosis treated with drug from April 2011 to April 2016 at Taizhou Hospital Affiliated to Wenzhou Medical University. Results: All 19 patients who were treated with low molecule Gansugai and Warfarin recovered well. Their average hospital stay was (12±5) d and average follow-up (20±9) months without recurrence. Conclusion: Conservative treatment with drugs is safe and effective for patients with portal vein thrombosis and without peritoneal irritation.
