Analysis of the related factors on the diagnostic changes of somatoform disorder

Abstract:Objective: To investigate the development and changes in the diagnosis of patients with somatoform disorders and diagnosis changes with related factors. Methods: Using a retrospective case-control study, a new diagnosis on somatoform disorder patients in the year of 2002 were renewed diagnosis after ten years, totally 196 cases involved. The diagnosis of 80 cases of changes in patients as study group, maintain the diagnosis of 116 patients were the control group for Multivariate Logistic regression model for analysis of diagnosis of change. Results: 41% of cases had changed with related factors such as family psychotic, age of onset, trigger factors, frequent relapse. And significantly difference were found in the seven early symptoms of psychosis in all eight early psychiatric symptomsin for the 2 group (P<0.01). Social withdrawal, role function obstacle, weird act, slow emotion, difficulties in thinking made impact on changes of somatoform disorder diagnosis (P<0.05). Conclusion: Patients with somatoform disorder with the development of time has a high rate of diagnostic change, the early symptoms of psychotic patients are more likely to develop into mental disease.
