Abstract：Peer review is a key step to control the quality of manuscripts in academic journals, which has a significant impact on the time lag of publication cycle. In order to meet the need to develop specialized differentiation of medical disciplines, medical journals of subordinate subject are gradually expanding. However,there’d no guarantee for the quality of peer review. Taking an example of medical journals of sub-discipline,based on literature research and personal experience, this paper analyzes the problems and causes in the peer review process and then puts forward specific measures to improve the review quality and ensure the review efficiency under the short-time requirement.
