Abstract：The construction of special discipline zone is a new way for Chinese universities to explore the discipline development and promote the construction of “double first-class” in recent years. Although discipline special zones and economic special zones belong to different sectors, they are similar in developmental thinking and constructional essence. The successful experience in the construction of special economic zones is of important value and feasibility in guiding the construction of discipline special zones from two aspects: institutional model and practical model. Based on transition economics theory, this paper attempts to take the construction of special economic zones as a comparison and discuss the construction path of discipline special zones in terms of object selection and path development.
