Abstract:Objective: To evaluate clinical efficacy of singulair combined with loratadine in the treatment of children with cough variant asthma (CVA) to provide the basis for the treatment of cough variant asthma. Methods: Sixty cases of CVA were randomly divided into control group and observation group, the control group with conventional therapy and inhaled corticosteroids, the observation group was treated with singulair combined with loratadine treatment, the clinical efficacy and adverse reaction of two groups were compared. Results: The total effective rate of observation group was 86.7%, significantly higher than that in control group 50%, P<0.05; two groups of children with eosinophil counts were significantly decreased, P<0.05; after treatment, the observation group was significantly lower than the control group, there was a statistically significant difference between groups (P<0.05); the observation group after treatment, cough relieving and the disappearance time were shorter than that in the control group, there was a statistically significant difference between groups (P<0.05); recurrence rate, the observation group was 3.3% (1/30), significantly lower than that of the control group 20.0% (6/30) P<0.05; adverse reactions, the incidence rate of the observation group was 13.3% (4/30), significantly lower than that of the control group 40.0% (12/30) P<0.05. Conclusion: Singulair combined with loratadine in treatment of cough variant asthma clinical effect is better than that of conventional treatment and inhaled corticosteroids, and low incidence rate of adverse reactions, good tolerance to treatment in children.
