Abstract:Objective: To determine the criteria for screening the unrelated hematopoietic stem cell donors based on the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC curve). Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted between 2007 and 2018 in Wenzhou City to collect information from 40 donors who donated hematopoietic stem cells and 166 potential donors in order to construct a ROC curve between donation cognition, donation willingness and donation attitude. Results: A joint screening method integrating the degree of donation cognition, donation willingness and donation attitude were used. The area under the ROC curve was 0.87 (95%CI: 0.81-0.93), with sensitivity being 70.00% and specificity 90.96%. The consistent rate was 86.89% and the Youden index was 0.61. Conclusion: To promote the possibility of donation and reduce the refusal rate, it is helpful to enhance the awareness of unrelated hematopoietic stem cell donors, while increasing their willingness and attitude towards hematopoietic stem cell donation.
