Abstract:Objective: To explore the curative effect of the fiber post associated with casting pure titanium ring and casting pure titanium post on the reparation of subgingival residual root. Methods: Fifty teeth were selected by the reparation of subgingival residual root after root canal therapy in our department during 2008-2011. Twenty-five teeth were received the reparation by casting pure titanium ring and fiber post and all-ceramic crown. Other 25 teeth were received the reparation by casting pure titanium post and all-ceramic crown. Then observed for 2 years. The effect was estimated from 3 aspects; the stability of the core; root fracture or not; and the gum around the prostheis. Results: Within the 25 cases treated with casting pure titanium post core crown, one happens root fracture, four cores shed from root, and zero happen gingival discolor. But other 25 cases work well and have no adverse sign. There was significant difference in the root fracture and shed from root (P<0.05). Conclusion: Using pure titanium ring and fiber post have obvious advantages than using pure titanium post in combining with the root tissue and stress distribution of root and the best visual impression
