Abstract:Objective: To investigate the analgesic and anti-flammatory effects of the ethyl acetate extract of Curcuma wenyujin and explore the anti-flammatory mechanism of this effective fraction. Methods: By using hot plate test, xylene-induced mouse ear edema test and chemical irritation-induced writhing test to study the effect of analgesic and anti-flammatory. The levels of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 in ear homogenate were measured by ELISA. Results: The results showed that the ethyl acetate extract of Curcuma wenyujin had the significant analgesic
effects by physical and chemical stimulated. It had obviously inhibited inflammatory edema and celiac capillary permeability, the analgesic effects and anti-flammatory was improved with increased dosages. It could also reduce the level of TNF-α. Conclusion: The ethyl acetate extract of Curcuma wenyujin have the significant anti-flammatory and analgesic effects, the mechanisms of anti-flammatory is concerned with inhibiting the level of TNF-α
